About Us
Education is a powerful tool that can transform lives and communities. The Alice C Humphrey Foundation is a nonprofit organization with programs aimed at supporting educational opportunities for underrepresented students and providing scholarships to students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Our cause is to break down barriers to education and provide opportunities for a brighter future. Together, we can help bridge the gap and ensure that every child has access to the education they deserve.

Our space is dedicated to providing a platform for you to learn more about the programs, our team, and the impact we are making in the community. Through our services and program funding, we aim to bridge the educational gap and create a supportive environment for students to thrive.
We believe in the potential of every student, regardless of their background. All students have the ability to embrace their identity, define their future, and make a positive impact on the world.
Our Mission
At the Alice C Humphrey Foundation, our mission is to provide accessible educational opportunities and support services to underrepresented students, and scholarships to students attending HBCUs, empowering them to achieve their full potential.

We are dedicated to honoring the legacy of our beloved founder, Alice C Humphrey (deceased), by fostering a brighter future for children and aspiring scholars. Our mission is rooted in the belief that education is the key to unlocking the full potential of every individual, irrespective of their background or circumstances.
Our Vision
Our vision is to create a future where every student has equal access to quality education and is equipped with the resources to succeed.
Our Programs
Our purpose is twofold - to provide educational opportunities for underrepresented children and to support deserving students in pursuing higher education at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). We believe that through education, we can break the cycle of poverty, empower young minds, and create a more equitable society.
STEAM Up!
We are dedicated to elevating and supporting underrepresented children throughout their academic pursuits. Through partnerships with educational institutions, community organizations, corporations, and local stakeholders, we strive to equip these students with essential resources, mentorship, and access to high-quality STEAM education, where the 'A' represents Aviation alongside Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
Our comprehensive initiatives extend from educational assistance to skill development and tailored support, ensuring that each child can reach their fullest potential and thrive in various life aspects.
STEAM Up! provides underrepresented youth with hands-on learning opportunities through technical workshops, aviation-focused activities, and coding bootcamps. This robust approach prepares them for promising careers in technology-driven fields and aviation, equipping them with the skills necessary to excel in the future workforce.
Gap to Cap Scholarships
Texas Southern University held a special place in the heart of our founder, Alice C Humphrey, and like her, we believe in the transformative power of higher education. To that end, we offer scholarships to deserving students attending HBCUs who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to making a positive impact on their community.
Our scholarships will open doors to opportunities that may otherwise be beyond their reach, allowing them to excel in their chosen fields and become future leaders and change-makers.
Gap to Cap Scholarships support HBCU seniors by clearing outstanding tuition balances, allowing them to graduate debt-free and smoothly transition into professional roles.
